COUSD Names Dr. Fayroze Mostafa as Assistant Superintendent, Educational Services

The Charter Oak Unified School District (COUSD) has selected Fayroze Mostafa, Ed.D., as the new Assistant Superintendent, Educational Services, effective immediately. Dr. Mostafa brings a wealth of experience to this role, including 3.5 years as the District’s Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessments, providing her with an intimate understanding of COUSD's unique needs and priorities. With nearly 25 years of success as a teacher and an administrator, she has a proven track record of excellence in education.

As an innovative and engaging leader, Dr. Mostafa is dedicated to fostering a collaborative environment that supports student learning and professional growth for educators. Her commitment to clear communication and strong relationships with staff and families has been instrumental in her previous roles.

Dr. Mostafa has recently spearheaded several key initiatives, including:

  • Implementing a districtwide elementary music program for grades 4-6;
  • Overseeing textbook adoption at both the middle and high school levels;
  • Leading the LCAP Advisory Council, which developed the district’s pillars of success;
  • Managing summer school planning and development; and
  • Providing ongoing support and professional development to district staff.

Dr. Mostafa holds a Bachelor of Science in Child Development from California State University – Fullerton, a Master of Arts in Teaching from Azusa Pacific University, and a Master of Arts in Education Administration from Azusa Pacific University. She also holds a Doctorate of Education in Organizational Leadership from the University of La Verne.
