Charter Oak Unified Celebrates Arrow High School's 2025 Model Continuation High School Recognition

We are thrilled to announce that Arrow High School has once again been recognized as a Model Continuation High School (MCHS) for 2025 by the California Department of Education! This prestigious honor highlights Arrow's unwavering commitment to providing an exceptional and personalized learning experience for its students.

Arrow High School's mission is to empower students to take ownership of their education and foster personal growth. Through standards-based instruction, students develop essential academic skills and work towards credit recovery and meeting graduation requirements. The school's dedicated staff has implemented expanded course offerings, to ensure students receive an engaging and comprehensive education.

Beyond academics, Arrow focuses on building a strong sense of community and increasing student attendance. The school's small size allows for individualized learning, ensuring each student receives the support they need. A key component of Arrow's success is the implementation of Individualized Learning Plans, which map each student's academic journey and guide them towards future achievements.

Earlier this week, State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tony Thurmond recognized 74 schools out of 429 statewide for this honor, emphasizing the crucial role continuation schools play for students who need a less traditional school model. These schools provide comprehensive services, including exemplary instructional strategies, flexible scheduling, and robust guidance and counseling.

Arrow High School's recognition as an MCHS is a testament to the hard work and dedication of its staff. The school's commitment to providing a supportive and enriching environment ensures that every student has the opportunity to succeed. To achieve this designation, Arrow underwent a rigorous application and review process, including a site visit by the California Department of Education, accreditation by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, and the submission of supportive letters from parents and students.

Charter Oak Unified School District is incredibly proud of Arrow High School's achievement and its commitment to empowering students to reach their full potential. We congratulate the entire Arrow community on this well-deserved recognition!
