Dear Charter Oak Unified Families,

As we approach Spring Break, I want to take a moment to wish you all a relaxing and rejuvenating time. This is a well-deserved break for our students, teachers, and staff, and I encourage everyone to use this time to recharge and reconnect with family and friends.

For our students, I hope you use this time not only to rest but also to reflect on your goals for the remainder of the school year. Consider what you’ve accomplished so far, and think about what you’d like to achieve in the weeks ahead. Spring Break offers a great opportunity to pause, reflect, and return with renewed energy and focus.

When we return from break, we will soon be entering a period of state and/or AP/IB testing. These assessments are an important part of our educational process. They provide valuable insights into student progress and help us identify areas where we can continue to improve our practices.

These tests are not just about individual scores; they provide crucial data that helps us, as a district, ensure we are meeting the needs of all our students. The results help us:

  • Evaluate our instructional practices
  • Identify areas of success and areas for improvement
  • Track student and school growth

I understand that testing can sometimes be a source of stress, but I want to assure you that our teachers and staff are committed to supporting our students every step of the way.  We challenge all our students to be prepared, and to do their very best.

Let’s work together to ensure a successful testing period and a strong finish to the school year. Enjoy your Spring Break, and I look forward to seeing everyone back in class on April 7.

Sincerely,

Danny Kim, Ed.D.
